Claymation reflecion

This post is about the Claymation project we have been doing in Mr. Bergquist's class for the last quarter and a half. This was the first big project we have done all year. My partner was Cassandra Marcial, we had some ups and downs but overall I thought we got along pretty well and had a pretty good finishing project. Although Cassie and I only finished 5 scenes we are still working on them. One thing I liked about this project was that it was fun making the little clay people. Another thing I liked about it was looking back over at the scene I had just made, and thinking it looked pretty good. One thing I disliked about this project was that there was not enough time in between each scene. Overall this project was okay but I’m sort of glad it's over, so I don't have to worry about it.

My favorite part of this project, was making the people I thought it was really fun and creative. I liked making the people because it was something i could do it, well talking to my friends and partner. Some other things I liked about this project were that it was fun making the actual video and doing the audio on Imovie. I thought this was fun because I learned a lot more about Imovie and making video's. I thought the movie we actually made was okay, but if I ever do this again I know what I could improve upon. Another thing I liked watching was our video and other people's videos because I knew how much effort and work had gone into each off those projects. Another thing i really liked was just having fun with my partner. Cassie was a really good partner and she did a lot for our project. Cassie was the best partner, although she couldn't be there some of the time we had a really good project t the end. Overall I liked this project more than I disliked it. I thought this project was pretty fun, hands on, and creative.

Some things I disliked about this project were that I didn't think there was enough time in between scenes. Only about half the class was done on time. Although I may have procrastinated a little bit during the scenes I still didn't think that there was enough time given. Another thing I didn’t like about this project was how confusing it was to get the pictures in order. When you uploaded the pictures to the mac's than they just came up in random orders. But by far my most frustrating thing was getting the little people to stand up and learning how to make them thick enough. If you didn't make them thick enough then they would fall over, and you would practically have to re due the whole scene. If I were to re due this project having known what I was getting into, I would not have procrastinated as much. Some things I wish I could have controlled better were the amount of time we got to have during each scene. Overall I think i liked this project more then i disliked it.

The most important thing I learned doing this project was how to stream pictures together and make a movie. Before i knew a little bit about imovie but i didn't know how to make the pictures into movies. Some other things I learned were how to make clay people, how to use Imovie, and not to procrastinate as much. Another thing I learned was how to be more prepared because the first couple of days my partner and I couldn't even work because we didn't have the clay. Next time I do a project like this or as big as this i will be prepared a lot more. This was the first major project for first quarter and overall I thought it was a pretty good one. I hope the i learn even more from the next project. I thought overall I learned a lot of things from this project.

In conclusion I thought this whole project was pretty good, and I learned a lot. This project was fun and creative for the most part although I’m glad I don't have that pressure hanging over me anymore to get my scene’s done. My partner was overall really helpful and we worked pretty well together. I hope our next major project turns out to be as successful and fun.

Team building event! now and then..

I think by now you have nottied that this blog is all most all based on softball. Once again this post is about softball sorry if you dont like it by almost my whole life is softball. Last year we had a team building event at a ropes course it was pretty boring until we actually started climbing, we were probably 50 feet in the air on a cliff and i was deathly scared of hights so yeah you do the math. I was going to decide not to do it but my team mates convinced me, after about the first ten feet in the air i looked down and like started crying but sammie and chloe told me to keep going and i did i made it all the way to the top i was so proud of myself i felt like i had accomplished so much. After we had the ropes course we went to this restaurant called Azteca it was so much fun, the food itself wasnt very good but it was the people i was with. I'm pretty sure the manager of the place hated us after we left because we made such a huge mess of the place (we did that to every restaurant we went to so its nothing new). We probably spilled all together 7 drinks and like 4 plates of food we even told the waiter it was our coaches birthday (which it wasnt at all). After the night was over we had asked for ballons and they gave them to us im pretty sure we all got at least 2 but they were all on the ceiling so none of us actaully went home with them. We went back to that same restaurant almost a yer later and they rembered us and the about 2 of the ballons were still on the ceiling. That day was really fun because i got a lot closer with my team mates which i guess was the point. This year were doing two team building events, and one is on Saturday i can't wait were going to a movie and then were all spending the night at one of my team mates (kayla) house, it should be really fun and im hoping i can get to know the new team members a lttle better. I'm planning on taking lots of pictures and i will probably post one of us all so watch out. Our other team bonding event is in december were all going to work for a food disrabuting company (fun right?), But it helps the seatle community so i guess it okay. So yeah thats pretty much all my upcoming events except for soccer so yeah.

hitting slump

This past two months all we have been focusing on is hitting, we have practice every Sunday and we hit with our hitting coach Eve for an hour each. Our coach Eve used to be a top college pitcher now she teaches hitting and pitching to lot's of teams. Last season my overall batting average was just about 500 i had one of the best averages on the team and i was one of the bet hitters hitting in the 6 spot. This year i was in the 5 spot i was pretty happy i had moved up. But up until last weekend i had only hit 1 ball over two tourni's, i was in a slump and i was scared that I would lose my spot in the lineup. But last weekend i had finnally gotten a hit then another then another then another my batting average for the weekend was about 400. The highlight of my weekend was my double off the 200 fence it would have been a homerun but the fence was 13 feet high. So i think i finally might be out of my slump YAY! i might just have my swing and batting average back. It all came down to my coach believing in me, right before the game he said he had made some changes in the lineup i just knew he had moved me down. To my surpise he said he hadn't i asked "John why haven't i been moved down i'm doing pretty bad" he replied "because i believe in your ability and i need you were you are". I was pretty happy he hadn't moved me because i had worked hard to be were i was. So now i'm glad he said that because i think it gave me a lot of confidence. Now i'm praying that this slump is over!

Fate

Have you ever noticed that when fate hits you don't really notice at the time, but if you take a step back from it all it's easy to spot. Like this time when i was just walking in The Brea Mall with my family, just like every Sunday we saw this darling Yellow lab puppy. She was jumping up and down and was really exited, there was even a small crowd gathered around staring at her. My dad and I were just staring at her commenting on how cute she was and out of nowhere my mom walks into the store and asks to see her in this special room were you can play with the puppies. After about an hour with this little dog i already had a name and my mom was signing papers for Megan. Now this is what my Dad would call an impulse buy and my mom rarely has moments like this, so i prefer to think that this was fate. As luck would have it, our older yellow lab Bob really enjoyed the company and Megan just adored him. Fate is a tricky thing sometimes it's not really fate and it's just impulse but there's certain times when you know everything will turn out great. Sometimes fate has nothing to do with dogs or even people. Isn't weird how fate sometimes leads people away from each other but by doing so shows the person who really cares, or sometimes leads a person right into to there true loves path. But what i do know about fate is that it is always in your interest even if it doesn't seem like that at the time. As somebody famous and old once quoted "as one door closes another opens".

life graph

When i was ten i moved to Whidbey Island. I used to live in Fullerton, California a small suberb of Orange County. When my parents first told me we were moving i didn't believe them because they told me that a lot. After awhile it sunk in and i started crying my eyes out, and i through the hugest fit of my life. I thought that if i moved i would never get to play softball again or see my friends and my life would just suck. I was most definitly WRONG! beacause In the end i'm happy that we moved, because of we hadn't. I would have never played on blaze, i would never have had the oppurtunity to meet all of my friends, and my life wouldn't be as interasting as it is. Although i do still wonder what it would be like if i still lived in california.....hmm.

Oregon

This June for softball(of course!)i went to Oregon. Oregon was so much fun, we had picnic, played like six games, and we even got bid to nationals in Alabama. The hotel we stayed at was really nice. It had two pools and a workout room. We even went to a AA baseball game against the Seattle Sounders and the Oregon Volcano's. At the baseball game there was a pitching game it cost $1 per throw. I probably spent $15 bucks at that booth and i blew out my arm the day before are game. But i beat like half the guys and all my friends so it was worth it (my speed was 59mph if you were wondering). Also at the game i had one of my most embarrassing moments. Well i was walking down he stairs for like the 50th time i tripped and fell and landed flat on m butt and everyone was watching it was really embarrassing. After the game (the Sounders lost) we went back to the hotel the team spent like 2 hours together. The next day we had two games both teams were really good but we beat the first (Fireballs) team and lost to the second (Beaverton Blaze). And on Sunday (the elimination day) we lost, but it's okay because we took 5th out of 15 teams. So that was pretty much the funnest part of my summer leave me a comment.

P.S
take my quiz!
