hitting slump

This past two months all we have been focusing on is hitting, we have practice every Sunday and we hit with our hitting coach Eve for an hour each. Our coach Eve used to be a top college pitcher now she teaches hitting and pitching to lot's of teams. Last season my overall batting average was just about 500 i had one of the best averages on the team and i was one of the bet hitters hitting in the 6 spot. This year i was in the 5 spot i was pretty happy i had moved up. But up until last weekend i had only hit 1 ball over two tourni's, i was in a slump and i was scared that I would lose my spot in the lineup. But last weekend i had finnally gotten a hit then another then another then another my batting average for the weekend was about 400. The highlight of my weekend was my double off the 200 fence it would have been a homerun but the fence was 13 feet high. So i think i finally might be out of my slump YAY! i might just have my swing and batting average back. It all came down to my coach believing in me, right before the game he said he had made some changes in the lineup i just knew he had moved me down. To my surpise he said he hadn't i asked "John why haven't i been moved down i'm doing pretty bad" he replied "because i believe in your ability and i need you were you are". I was pretty happy he hadn't moved me because i had worked hard to be were i was. So now i'm glad he said that because i think it gave me a lot of confidence. Now i'm praying that this slump is over!

Fate

Have you ever noticed that when fate hits you don't really notice at the time, but if you take a step back from it all it's easy to spot. Like this time when i was just walking in The Brea Mall with my family, just like every Sunday we saw this darling Yellow lab puppy. She was jumping up and down and was really exited, there was even a small crowd gathered around staring at her. My dad and I were just staring at her commenting on how cute she was and out of nowhere my mom walks into the store and asks to see her in this special room were you can play with the puppies. After about an hour with this little dog i already had a name and my mom was signing papers for Megan. Now this is what my Dad would call an impulse buy and my mom rarely has moments like this, so i prefer to think that this was fate. As luck would have it, our older yellow lab Bob really enjoyed the company and Megan just adored him. Fate is a tricky thing sometimes it's not really fate and it's just impulse but there's certain times when you know everything will turn out great. Sometimes fate has nothing to do with dogs or even people. Isn't weird how fate sometimes leads people away from each other but by doing so shows the person who really cares, or sometimes leads a person right into to there true loves path. But what i do know about fate is that it is always in your interest even if it doesn't seem like that at the time. As somebody famous and old once quoted "as one door closes another opens".
